The 2025 Silk Road International Conference on Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research, and Application was held in Xi'an, China, focusing on cultural innovation and mutual learning along the ancient Silk Road.

Hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government in collaboration with the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and Northwest University, the event featured keynote speeches by Chinese and foreign officials, experts, and scholars.
Northwest University's president Sun Qingwei, highlighted the institution’s contributions to Silk Road research, emphasizing the route's historical significance in facilitating East-West exchanges. Ahmed Mustafa Fahmy, head of the League of Arab States' China Representative Office, praised the progress in education cooperation and cultural exchanges between China and Arab countries.
The conference included sub-forums on cultural exchange between China and Arab states, and between China and Central Asia, fostering discussions on mutual learning and contemporary relations. Notable outcomes included the establishment of the "China Arab Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning Academic Alliance" and the unveiling of the "Intelligent Perception Laboratory for Countries along the Silk Road."
These initiatives aim to institutionalize collaboration between China, Central Asia, and Arab countries, promoting cooperation and mutual development. The conference serves as a crucial platform for enhancing cooperation between universities and research institutions along the Silk Road, driving integrated development across various sectors. By deepening cultural ties and fostering understanding, the event contributes to the advancement of the Belt and Road initiative and strengthens partnerships along the historic trade route.
